Classic Kayak & Canoe
Come and enjoy our Classic Open Canoe and Kayak Trans Scotland River and Loch Trips.
Some take a week of paddling others a weekend. You can also do sections of the longer trips over several weekends or days or just select the best day or weekend river trips in the UK.
The Rannoch Moor crossing and down the Tummel, the River Tay, the River Spey plus Our Special Creations. We run these trips for individuals, families and groups. They can be wonderfully mellow or exciting. We can pick trips for those who have never been in a kayak or canoe before or one for those with considerable experience.
Some of the trips we run are very user-friendly, allowing arrival and departure by main line trains.
All Trips/Expeditions can use either canoes or kayaks or a mixture. For most you can either camp or B&B. Some are inherently remote and require camping.
Check out some of the examples below and email us with your requirements.
Rannoch Moor Crossing - 2 days - 1 or 2 night camping
Meet Bridge of Orchy Station and finish Rannoch Station (then return on the evening train to Bridge of Orchy). A superb remote trip through a maze of lakes. Can be done at any time of year, but hard to beat in May with some snow still lingering on the high tops and the more basking in sunshine with its myriad lochans and sandy beaches. An excellent trip for beginners but does require some effort if wind and weather not perfect. Can be continued all the way to Perth down Tummel system and the Tay a great 5 days.
River Tay 1 day to 5 days
Stunning Autumn colours and great in the spring . Its very easy to access bits and pieces of this trip. Can involve friday night camping on an island and then two days down the river or you can stay in absolute luxury.
Kenmore to Grandtully or Dunkeld - Fri-Sun - some good white water
Pitlochry to Perth - Fri-Sun - some white water Can use mainline trains
Crianlarich to Perth - Mon-Fri The whole lot, use the train, makes it much more of a holiday.
River Spey
Loch Insh to Spey Bay The Classic 5 day trip or any number of days in between either camp or stay in any level of accommodation
