Tide, Wind and Waves - 2 or 3 days
A Sea Kayaking course tailored to fit the needs of an Intermediate Sea Kayaker looking to develop their skills in the challenging and exciting world of the Open Sea.
This course is ideally suited to someone who may have done one of our introductory courses, or has good boat / water confidence and wants to take it to that next level.
The idea is not to "scare you out of your mind" but to progressively introduce you to more challenging paddling conditions through using what Tide, Wind and Waves we have available.
The courses are not expedition courses and will be based from a B&B / hostel of your choosing, or a local campsite. This allows you to "give it your all" during the day in light, top of the range kayaks, safe in the knowledge of a warm shower and comfy bed after a relaxed evening swapping stories of your day with new friends.
We will provide you with a wide range of high quality Sea Kayaks to try, giving you the opportunity to demo them in more "interesting" conditions. Currently Tiderace & Point 65 in stock more soon.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather, the exact program of the course will be decided closer to the time. We will also be taking into account your specific needs and abilities. Typically however we will cover skills, which enable you to deal with the coastlines exposed to swell, surf beaches and tide races. We will be going in search of the optimum conditions which will involve us using a variety of locations over the weekend, but at the same time trying to minimise travel time and maximise on-the-water time.
If you are still unsure if this is the course for you, feel free to email us (our swiftest reply) with any enquiries info@nationalkayakschool.com or call 08456 436 036.
