West Jura & the Corrievreckan & Grey Dog Tidal races 6/7 days Advanced
More adventurous than our other trips, this is for those who enjoy seeing
and playing with the power of the sea combined with an exploration of the
remote west coast of Jura, which has no road access.
On day 1 we meet at our base in Oban to select the right kayak for you from
our very diverse stock of quality sea kayaks. We then head out to Easdale
from where we take the RIB shuttle to East Loch Tarbert on Jura.
Using trolleys we portage the sea kayaks across to West Loch Tarbert and
then over 2 days paddle west out of this magical loch and along one of the
most beautiful coastlines in Scotland to the North End of Jura. This is
followed by 2 great days exploring and playing in the legendary tide races
of the Corrievreckan, Grey Dogs and Cuan Sound - allowing for
weather conditions at the time. Depending on the group, we may set up a
camp for 2 nights to allow exploring with empty boats. We finish at the
well known Puffer Bar on Easdale.
An ability to enjoy paddling in advanced sea conditions is essential for
this trip due to the nature of the tide races - if you are from a
whitewater background this may be the trip for you - if in doubt, just
contact us and we can talk it through.
Cost is £590 inc the RIB shuttle
